1. God

2. Internal

Proverbs 4:23
23  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

• Be careful of your Inner thoughts and discussions

Philippians 4:8
8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

• Self pity & self Condemnation

Romans 8:1-2

1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Focus your mind with the Word of God, not social media fake lifestyles

Jesus is my standard not the world; Set your eyes on Jesus

1 John 2:16-17

16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Hebrews 12:1-2

1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Numbers 21:8

8  And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

Whenever you take your eyes off Jesus and you focus on the world you get bitten. 2023 focus on Jesus and what He has said.

Condemnation and accusation is not of God but of the Devil

Revelation 12:10

10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

b. Fear

2 Timothy 1:7

7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Psalm 23:4

4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Isaiah 41:10

10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Fear will not stop my shinning

c. – Offence and Unforgiveness

Matthew 6:14-15

14  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Luke 17:3-4

3  Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

4  And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Luke 17:1

1  Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Unforgiveness will not stop my shinning

Offence

– Laziness (lazy generation)

2 Timothy 3:4

4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Ecclesiastes 5:12

12  The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.

Luke 10:7

7  And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

Laziness will not stop my shinning

 

3. Familiar People – Family, Friends, Loved ones

two are better than one; not worse off than one

Proverbs 17:17-18

17  A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

18  A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.

Let not friendship or relationship impede your shinning or your destiny

 

4. Strangers

Bad things happen to good people out of ignorance.

2 Corinthians 2:11

11  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Hosea 4:6

6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Herod and Jesus – God delivered Jesus through knowledge and His star was not dimmed. There was no prophet, He spoke to Joseph

Matthew 2:13

13  And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

One dream saved nations from annihilation; the dream was for Joseph but it came through Pharaoh

Pharaoh and Moses – through knowledge

Haman and Mordecai – through knowledge
