Distinctive Exaltation
Distinctive
This comes from the word distinction.
Distinction: a difference or contrast between similar things or people.
Distinction is used to indicate difference where some two or more things have something in common. This is to say that, amongst believers, you can be distinguished for a reason.
Moses’ Story
Deuteronomy 18:15
15. The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
God called His’ Servant Moses, a human just like any other human in His Day; He distinguished him from the rest of His people to a more honourable office.
I pray for you that this month, let God distinguish you amongst other believers for something greater in Jesus Name.
Exaltation
This is the action of raising or promoting someone in position, rank or power. An example of this can be seen in the case of Jesus being exalted to the Right Hand of God.
Hebrews 12:2
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Distinctive Exaltation then is when one is selected from amongst the lot for a more honourable position or benefit. Let us look at the story of David before he was anointed as King.
1 Samuel 16:10-13
10. Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
11. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.
12. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
13. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
