Introduction

• Many believers want to be rich and many have been told that when they come to Jesus that their lives would be better.
• There are many today who feel depressed because they are believers and yet they have financial challenges; you can feel the anointing when they sing or play and yet they don’t feel that anointing in their finances.
• Many have gone back to the world or compromised their faith in one way of the other because of financial challenges.

Why this message?

1. No vision can be achieved without the material resources required to achieve it.
2. Many believers have a wrong mindset about money
3. It is possible to be called or be a believer and yet poor out of ignorance.

Ignorance resists and frustrates the move of God

• Many Christians want to be rich today for themselves and for the wrong reasons
• They lack understanding about the purpose of riches and so they use a secular approach.

The unbeliever worships money as his god; so he does anything at all including cheating and killing his fellow man for it (Matthew 19:21,22)

The believer on the other hand uses money to worship God because He knows the truth that God is the owner of the earth and everything in it  (Psalm 24:1)

You need to change your mind today about money and it is my duty to teach you.

• God desires to equip the vision through His people, not outsiders

Isaiah 31:1
1  Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Stop looking forward to some unbeliever coming to build an auditorium or to give you a building or a van;

Stop waiting for a sakawa game boy to come and give you his dirty blood-stained dollars to build your ministry and to boast later that you nothing without him

Any spirit which is causing you to doubt the power of God which is able to enrich you to be a blessing is bound in Jesus Name!

In Genesis 12:14, When Abram entered Egypt, he was not poor; He entered in dignity not as a beggarly slave; his wife was an attractive woman and got the attention of Pharaoh

In Genesis 42:2, When Jacob sent his sons to go to Egypt to buy food, he did not go begging, he sent them with money; guess what, His son was the one running affairs in Egypt

In Genesis 43:12, When they came back and they needed food again and sent them back with Double Money

Say I am not born again to be poor again

4. You must overcome the influence of Mammon using The Spirit of God

Ecclesiastes 10:5-7
5  There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler:
6  Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.
7  I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

Proverbs 13:22
22  A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

THE SOURCE OF WEALTH

1. God owns everything

Psalm 24:1

1  The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Psalm 50:10-12
10  For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11  I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12  If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Matthew 6:7-8
7  But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8  Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Only an owner can provide

2. God provides for man by Relationship

Matthew 6:31-33
31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

3. God is the final Authority

1 Samuel 2:6-8
6  The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
7  The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
8  He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

THE PURPOSE OF WEALTH

No one can carry even a pin away from the earth

Psalm 39:4-6
4  Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
5  Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
6  Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

To declare His Glory (fulfil Kingdom Agenda)

Psalm 57:5
5  Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

Psalm 19:1
1  The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Matthew 6:1
10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:33
33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The greatest law

Luke 10:27
27  And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
